New Zealand Library & Information Management Journal Article Encourages Move from MARC to BIBFRAME

In an article titled “MARC21 to Bibframe: outcomes, possibilities and new directions” published in the New Zealand Library and Information Management Journal, Karen Rollitt asserts that while “much of the documentation and literature about the Bibframe is focused on its impact on bibliographic description and semantic web representation. However Bibframe also has the potential to radically transform the way library and information services are discovered, accessed, used and managed.” As the firm hired by Library of Congress to serve as architect for the next generation descriptive vocabulary for libraries (BIBFRAME), and the pioneer in bringing greater visibility to Libraries and their collections, both in internal services and on the Web, Zepheira agrees.
