Zepheira Listened to Libraries, Provides Training Options that are Pragmatic, Cost-Effective
Library relevance on the Web begins with visibility – being able to see what it is your library has to offer. Linked Data and BIBFRAME together will play a key role in the Web accurately finding and reflecting what libraries have to offer. Through Zepheira’s work with hundreds of librarians, we found a need for a clear baseline of knowledge and awareness about where to begin on this path to relevance and visibility.
“Earlier this year, I suggested that Zepheira create the first advanced Linked Data and BIBFRAME focused training because they uniquely understand the relationship between linked open data infrastructures based on semantic web standards, BIBFRAME and information management,” explained Karim B. Boughida,Associate University Librarian for Digital Initiatives & Content Management at George Washington University in Washington, DC. “As part of the initial pilot training group, we were very pleased with the thorough curriculum, instructor engagement and flexible delivery methods. Upon completion of the training, my team continues to benefit from participation in the diverse Alumni community.”
“Practical Practitioner” Librarians Begin with Their Data, Use Zepheira’s State of the Art Tools and Join a Community of Practice
The course design uniquely blends key content on Linked Data and BIBFRAME delivered by industry experts with online discussion and locally focused exercises using participants’ own data and Zepheira’s tools. The course material and online format offers a convenient option for all roles across the library and any schedule. Upon completion, class cohorts can participate in regular Alumni activities and receive ongoing access to course content, Alumni discussions, and tool updates.
