Education and Training
Zepheira now offers a comprehensive series of high-value technology training classes in either open-enrollment or customer-specific settings. We provide both turn-key and a la carte courses targeting architects, high-end developers and anyone needing guidance on adopting advanced architectures or web-oriented/semantic technologies in their systems.
Our pre-packaged classes include:
- Introduction to Semantic Web Technologies (2 days) : This course is a comprehensive tour of the Semantic Web Technology stack, the vision and related technologies. The focus will be on the individual W3C standards, what they bring to the table and how to consume and produce them.
- Applied Semantic Web Technologies (3 days): This course is designed for students comfortable with the vision of how Semantic Web technologies fit together but who want practice doing so with specific applications.
- Service-Oriented Architecture (3 days): This course is a practical introduction to the space, the technologies, why it has largely failed to live up to its hype and how you can start to deploy SOA strategies that work.
- Introduction to NetKernel (3 days): This course presents an introduction and example-driven approach to NetKernel, a disruptive resource-oriented environment that will change how students think about building software. It will focus on the resource model, how to easily leverage existing code and services in this model and the advanced features and predictable scalability that fall out of this environment. Students will learn how to do more with less and learn about technologies that can make them orders of magnitude more productive and their software easier to maintain and more efficient.
- XML and Data Transformation (3 days): This course is a hands-on introduction to the Extensible Markup Language (XML) and its power as a structured, verifiable liquid data representation. This course will ensure that students are comfortable with all aspects of the standards, major tools and how to create, query, validate, transform and link XML.
- Semantic Technology Bootcamp (5 days): This course is a fast-paced and comprehensive (but accessible) introduction to semantic technologies and how to apply them in the Enterprise. While it will start with an introduction to the vision, it is appropriate for groups or individuals who know they need to come up to speed quickly and want real examples and strategies for successful adoption in their systems.
- Resource-Oriented Architecture Bootcamp (5 days): This course is a combination of the NetKernel, SOA and Data Transformation talks into a single, unified vision for producing business-focused, data-driven architectures in the Enterprise. Students will learn how this allows an organization to introduce new business capabilities, use their computational and development resources more efficiently, lower the costs and barriers to regulatory compliance and provide architectural migration paths driven by business need, not technology churn.
- Data Architect Bootcamp (5 days): This course is a combination of ideas from the Semantic, Resource-oriented and XML offerings to provide a comprehensive roadmap for data architects and stewards to successfully and efficiently offer an organization access to its own data. It will cover proven strategies for data production, accessibility, transformation and provenance in the face of ever changing requirements and business needs. Additionally, this approach will include being able to integrate across data sources including relational databases, RDF graphs, web pages, Excel spreadsheets, RSS feeds, documents, streams of JSON and so on.
We are planning open enrollment Bootcamp courses in New York, Silicon Valley, Washington, D.C., Boston and Atlanta later this year. If you would like to see a specific course in a specific area or another part of the world, or have any questions, please contact us.
For core technology training (e.g. Java, Ruby, Rails, Agile Processes), we work with industry leaders like Relevance, LLC.
