Zepheira partners Eric Miller, Uche Ogbuji, and David Wood were speakers at Wilshire’s Enterprise Data World conference held in Tampa, FL from April 5-9, 2009.

David Wood was a panel member of Issues Forum: Opportunities for Semantic Technologies within Enterprise Data Management along with Tony Shaw, Wilshire Conferences, Inc., Kevin Lynch,Central Intelligence Agency, and Sanjiva Nath, zAgile. This forum was designed to bridge the gap in understanding and start the conversation to build meaningful partnerships between enterprise customers and semantic developers.

Zepheira President Eric Miller has been invited to present a session and participate in the closing keynote panel at the 2009 edition of the Enterprise Data World conference in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Miller will conduct a session, “Websheets – Web-based Data Integration of Spreadsheets” on 7 April, then will participate on the closing keynote panel entitled “Data Management’s Next Big Thing!” on 9 April. On April 7th Eric Miller and Uche Ogbuji will be presenting “Websheets – Web-based Data Integration
of Spreadsheets” at Enterprise Data World in Tampa, Florida.

Here is the abstract of the presentation:

Spreadsheets. We can’t live with them. We can’t live without them. More importantly, the people who run our lines of business can’t live without them. We want an overall, integrated picture of enterprise information, but many things get in the way, and spreadsheets are often the largest blockers. This doesn’t have to be the case. A spreadsheet just represents a local point of view, a local concern. We should embrace this reality, and work to integrate it into our centralized information plans, rather than acting at cross-purposes to real users. Luckily, we can harness the power of the greatest integration platform ever: The Web. This presentation is a discussion and demonstration of practical tools for integrating spreadsheets into unified but flexible information management systems. Importantly, it covers techniques for monitoring and reporting on trends and patterns in the use of such systems, so that you can offer users the carrot of better collaboration, and less duplication of work, while using the dashboard results of spreadsheet usage to design your enterprise information systems around actual user needs and user patterns. A demonstration of Web technology for integrating and sharing data in spreadsheets, built on open-source and open standard components
